Starting a business
The original plan was to move to the mountains and see what small town living was like. Well… that plan didn’t happen how we thought it would. Instead, we found ourselves partnering with two friends to develop and grow a business. Making a vision come to life.
We were corporate soldiers in our past lives-- working under the constraints of a big company, pulling a salary, reporting to a boss. But we had these massive visions of taking an idea, creating a product, opening a retail space, and launching a website. As you can imagine, it was a huge recalculation to go from a life packed with big salaries, bosses, and a break-neck pace in the corporate world to learning an entirely new business and figuring out how to launch it with business partners. We learned how to succeed, fail, innovate, and create.
Was it more hours than ever before? Yup.
Was there a passion that didn’t exist before, firing us up? That was the best part!
Did we stumble? You bet.
But here’s the thing: we did it. We loved it. It was successful. The business continues to flourish and our partners are now running it full-time. We figured out from the experience just how much we love creating. Because of this, we have a new framework for what we think is possible. It made us break the box we were living inside of when it came to business and taught us to expand our thinking.
We wouldn’t go back to the old way of thinking. This was our first taste of being entrepreneurs. We liked it-- the challenges and the rewards. We’ve been digging in deeper ever since!
What were we ready for next……..
