I Could Never Do That

"May your choices reflect your Hopes. Not your Fears." Nelson Mandela

“Ahh. I could never do that.”

I sooo get that. We must be more adventurous. Or have more money. Or be really good planners. Haha. We are a bit adventurous, we did save for years and years and I do like to plan. But none of those are pivotal or necessary in taking that little seed of an idea you have in your head or that dreams that keeps popping up and acting on it.

The thought.

The idea.

It was put into your conscious for a reason. You have a personal choice to act on it or not to.

Our hope, at first, was to spend more time with each other. So, we hit the road and traveled with Matt. Our hope was to see the world. So, we used our savings to do that. Our hope was to simplify. So, we sold our home and paired down our possessions. Our hope was to start a business, so we did. Our hope was to slow down. So, we moved to a small town. In all of this, we never thought we had enough money saved. We never had a job we could come back to for income. We never had a plan for the same health insurance or school or …….and the list could go on forever. We just chose to focus on the hopes and not the fears.

And no doubt about it... all of this is a little uncomfortable. I mean, living in a mountain town. It is a *little* cold. There is *one* main street. We have a *city* market.

But there is this piece of me that wants to be bored. That wants to wander down that one and only street and enjoy it. To relinquish my need to do, do do. To settle my mind. To create ritual. To expand my heart. So, small town living it is.

What is that one thing you have always dreamed of doing?
