Around the World. The end. The beginning.

“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” —Seneca

We landed back in the United States. Eight months and a trip around the world later.

Our suitcases were battered and worn, one wheel busted up. Our duffle bug was duct tape closed so our school supplies wouldn’t fall out all over the airport floor and I could not wait to eat a Reeses’ Peanut Butter cup. Oh how I missed the chocolate and peanut butter combination!

Our three kids dragged behind. Everyone tired from the 14 hour red eye and 9 hour layover. We were ready, or so we thought, to finish up this adventure and go on living our life. This trip had changed us. We all knew it. Open hearts, clearer minds.

We accomplished what we set out to do, explore and learn.  We felt it, my heart knew it. But it didn’t happen how I planned it and for a type A planner like me, I almost threw that accomplishment out the window because it was way different than I expected.  I thought my yearning to travel the world, see the sights would bring me happiness. What the world decided was that happiness needed to be found somewhere else.
